The Orchestre Classique de Montréal has announced two upcoming performances of Händel’s “Messiah” in the crypt of Saint Joseph’s Oratory on Mount Royal.

Scheduled for Dec. 13 and 14, 2023, the showcases will be conducted by Jacques Lacombe and stars soprano Sydney Baedke, mezzo-soprano Lauren Segal, tenor Antoine Bélanger and baritone Gregory Dahl.

“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we return to Montreal’s famous St. Joseph’s Oratory to present this incredible work in the historic and iconic Crypt. It’s a completely different experience from a concert hall, due to the architectural and acoustic beauty of this magnificent space,” said Taras Kulish, General Director of the Orchestre Classique de Montréal, in an official press statement.

Both performances will start at 7:30 p.m.
