Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century Announces 40th Anniversary Season

The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary this fall.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be mainly on vocal and operatic performances.

The ensemble will present “Die Zauberflöte” and “Die Schauspiedirekotrin,” conducted by Kenneth Montgomery. The showcase will present a unique take on the two Mozart works, with Roberta Alexander taking the lead. The showcase will also feature sopranos Ilse Eerens, Anne Sophie Petit and Katharine Dain; baritone Henk Neven; and tenors Jeroen de Vaal and Jan-Willem Schaafsma, among others.

Performance Dates: Oct. 9 – 20, 2021

The season concludes with a series of performances of Bach’s “Hohe Messe” with the Cappella Amsterdam under the musical direction of Daniel Reuss.
