
Orchestra of the Bronx to Perform Handel’s Messiah
By Francisco SalazarThe Orchestra of the Bronx is set to present Händel’s “Messiah.”
The presentation will continue the annual tradition and it will be held on Dec. 8 at Lehman College. The orchestra will be joined by soloists and the Bronx Opera Chorus.
The Orchestra of The Bronx will led by conductor Michael Spierman and chorus members of The Bronx Opera will be directed by Ben Spierman.
There will be 23 speakers representing residents of the Bronx and watch will introduce each musical section, speaking Handel’s text. Guests include political, business, media, and education notables – an honor student, a waiter in a popular restaurant, and a hip-hop artist – a real cross-section of Bronxites.
The concert will be free.
