Opernhaus Zürich to Stream ‘Salome’ with Elena Stikhina

Opernhaus Zürich is set to livestream the premiere of Strauss’ “Salome” on Sept. 12.

The opera will be streamed as part of “Oper fur alle” free of charge and will also be shown on the big screen in Sechseläutenplatz. Simone Young will conduct the production by Andreas Homoki.

Elena Stikhina will star in the title role alongside Wolfgang Ablinger-Sperrhacke, Michaela Schuster, Kostas Smoriginas, and Mauro Peter. The cats also includes Siena Licht Miller, Iain Milne, Riccardo Botta, Diego Silva, Alejandro Del Angel, Xuenan Liu, Fabio Dorizzi, Martin Zysset, Savelii Andreev, Andrejs Krutojs, Andrew Owens, Remy Burnens, Luis Magallanes, Stanislav Vorobyov, Oleg Davydov, Flurin Caduff, Wilhelm Schwinghammer, Cheyne Davidson, Valeriy Murga, Alexander Fritze, and Henri Bernard.

The “Salome” stream is part of the company’s “Oper fur alle” which will also include a screening of Verdi’s Requiem.

“Salome” runs through Oct. 7, 2021.
