The Opernhaus Zurich has canceled the March 12 performance of Puccini’s “La Bohème.”

The company announced that “Juan Diego Flórez canceled the 3 p.m. the performance of “La Bohème” tonight due to illness. Since we are unable to provide an adequate replacement in the short time available and in the current general crisis situation, this performance has unfortunately to be cancelled.”

The Zurich Opera is currently performing with an audience of 1,000 or less due to government restrictions in order to prevent the coronavirus outbreak.

Flórez is still set to perform on March 18, 22, 25, and 29, 2020 with Ruzan Mantashyan, Olga Kulchynska, and Konstantin Shushakov.

The Opernhaus Zurich is currently performing “Arabella,” “Otello,” and “Die Csárdásfürstin.”
