Olga Peretaytako has canceled her second performance of “Il Turco in Italia” at the Opernhaus Zürich.

The soprano took to social media and said, “Dear friends and music lovers, I regret to inform you that, due to this illness, I will not be able to perform tomorrow. This flu has proven to be stronger than expected, and I must prioritize my health to ensure a swift recovery before my next show at Opernhaus Zürich on 26th of September! I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, as I was eagerly looking forward to sharing my Fiorilla with you. However, I have full confidence in my colleague, Irina Lungu, who will be taking the stage instead. Toi toi toi, Irina Lungu. Thank you for your understanding and continuous support. I promise to return to the stage on 26th of September!! Warm regards and stay healthy!”

Lungu recently performed the role at teh Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. This season she is set to perform at the Teatro Carlo Felice in “Il Corsaro” as well as at the Teatro alla Scala in “Pagliacci.”

Lungu is set to join a cast that includes Nahuel Di Pierro, Renato Girolami, Alasdair Kent, and Pietro Spagnoli. Daniele Squeo conducts.

Il Turco in Italia runs through Oct. 3, 2023.
