The young artists program, Openfest Prague has announced its seventh season.
The program is run by soprano Becca Conviser, who is a principal soloist in Prague. She has teamed up with some of Czechia’s most prominent artistic leaders as collaborators, including Jaroslav Kyzlink, Martin Otava, Zdeněk Klauda, and Jiří Štrunc. The international roster of voice fellows includes opera singers from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Greece. Italy, Latvia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Fellows work one-on-one with a team from the National Theater to isolate and then combine technical, stylistic and dramatic skills each day. Participants have personal vocal coachings, chances to perform in masterclasses, and receive sport/performance mental health training sessions, and HD photos and video recordings. The young artists will also make a professional international debut during the program, and have the potential to be offered house contracts directly from their fest participation.
This year’s program culminates with an orchestra gala in Smetana Hall (Obecní dům), in collaboration with the critically-acclaimed, Czech Virtuosi Orchestra. Opernfest Prague runs July 7-14, 2024 in Prague, Czechia,
