OperaVision to Stream Tempo Ritrovato

By Francisco Salazar

OperaVision is set to premiere “Tempo ritrovato” on Feb. 10, 2021.

The 32-minute video poem with music and voice is the first short from the Fondazione Rete Lirica delle Marche for 2021.

Filmed in December 2020 at the Teatro della Fortuna in Fano and then partly in Ascoli Piceno, Fano, and Fermo, the film is based on a project by Luciano Messi and Cecilia Ligorio. It was directed by Ligorio herself and by Benedetto Sicca, with Giovanni Culmone as the video designer, Renato Grieco as the sound designer, and Ludovico Gobbi as the lighting designer.

The film showcases music by Chiara Mallozzi and performances by mezzo-soprano Francesca Di Sauro and actor Simone Tangolo. Claudia Foresi and Cesarina Compagnoni perform on piano with the chamber ensembles of FORM-Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, and the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini.

The short tells the story of Simone, who is at home alone during the lockdown. He recalls his love through a series of music excerpts by Ennio Morricone, Gioachino Rossini, Georg Friedrich Händel, Georges Bizet, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Leonard Cohen.
