OperaVision To Live Stream Bjarnason’s ‘Brothers’ From Icelandic Opera

OperaVision will showcase the Icelandic Opera’s production of Bjarnason’s “Brothers” on Dec. 13, 2019.

The opera, which tells the story of a soldier who suffers a traumatic period of captivity during a mission in Afghanistan, stars Oddur Arnþór Jónsson, Marie Arnet, Selma Buch, Ørum Villumsen, Elmar Gilbertsson, Þóra Einarsdóttir, James Laing, Jakob Zethner, Hanna Dóra Sturludóttir, and Paul Carey Jones.

The composer, Daniel Bjarnason, will conduct with Kasper Holten directing.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. That’s around 1 p.m. Eastern time and 10 a.m. Pacific time for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on OperaVision until June 5, 2020.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals.
