OperaVision Announces December Streams

OperaVision has announced its December program filled with holiday treats for all ages.

The first stream of the month will be Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” from the Gran Teatre del Liceu. The production by Christof Loy stars Christopher Maltman in the title role.

Streaming Date: Dec. 4, 2020

Massenet’s “Werther” will be streamed from the Teatro Sociale di Como and stars the winners of the 71st AsLiCo Singing Competition in 2020.

Streaming Date: Dec. 13, 2020

OperaVision will stream “Le Soupe Pop,” inspired by director Marie-Ève Signeyrole’s real-life experience volunteering in a soup kitchen around Christmas. The work stars the actors and singers on Montpellier’s Opéra Comédie stage.

Streaming Date: Dec. 18, 2020

The month continues with Massenet’s “Cendrillon” in a production by Damiano Michieletto. The production comes from the Komische Oper Berlin.

Streaming Date: Dec. 20, 2020

“The Nutcracker” will be streamed from the Ballet Company of the National Opera of Ukraine.

Streaming Date: Dec. 26, 2020

Barrie Kosky’s production of “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” be shown from the Komische Oper Berlin. In this production, the title role itself is shared by three performers – including an actor – while a single soprano embodies all four female lead roles.

Streaming Date: Dec. 27, 2020

The month will showcase two live streams from the Komische Oper crown the festive program. The first will be “Lonely House – Songs and Chansons by Kurt Weill,” performed by singer and actress Katharine Mehrling and Intendant Barrie Kosky.

Streaming Date: Dec. 22, 2020

The other live stream will be Paul Abraham’s “The Flower of Hawaii” in a concert version.

Streaming Date: Dec. 30, 2020
