Operavision 2018 Live Stream: Louise Alder Stars in ‘The Magic Flute’ At Garsington Opera

Opera Vision will start streaming Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” from the Garsington Opera starting on Sept. 14, 2018.

The Mozart masterpiece will feature Louise Alder as Pamina with Benjamin Hulett as her lover Tamino. Other cast members include Jonathan McGovern, James Creswell, and Sen Guo.

The work will be sung in its original German in a production by Netia Jones. Christian Curnyn conducts.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. That’s around 2 p.m. EDT and 11 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until May 15, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “Albert Herring.”
