OperaVision will showcase Erkel’s “Bánk Bán” live from the Hungarian State Opera on September 7, 2018 starting at 7 p.m. local time.

The Hungarian work will star Marcell Bakonyi, Ildikó Komlósi, Péter Balczó, Levente Molnár, Kolos Kováts, Zsolt Haja, Lajos Geiger, Gergely Irlanda, and Zita Szemere. Balázs Kocsár will conduct while Attila Vidnyánszky directs.

The production will be available to stream for free until March 6, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals.
