OperaVision 2018-19 Preview: How to Live Stream World Premiere of ‘Sanatorio Express’

OperaVision will start streaming the world premiere production of composer Iiro Rantala and librettist Minna Lindgren’s “Sanatorio Express” live from the Finnish National Opera and Ballet on Oct. 2, 2018.

The new opera will feature Johanna Rusanen as a soprano, Päivi Nisula as a Receptionist, Hannu Niemelä as a Healer, Markus Nykänen as a Tenor, and Waltteri Torikka as a Husband, among others. Maria Sid directs the production with Kalle Kuusava as the music director.

The stream kicks off at 5:30 p.m. local time. That’s around 12:30 p.m. EDT and 9:30 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until April 1, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”
