OperaVision 2017-18 Preview: Michael Fabiano Headlines ‘Il Corsaro’ From Valencia

Opera Vision will start streaming Verdi’s “Il Corsaro” from the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia starting on April 8, 2018.

The early Verdi opera will showcase Michael Fabiano alongside Kristina Mkhitaryan, Oksana Dyka, Vito Priante, and Evgeny Stavinsky. Fabio Biondi is conducting the opera and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

The stream kicks off at 8 p.m. local time. That’s around 2 p.m. EDT and 11 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until Oct. 7, 2018.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on the slate of live streams will be “La Traviata” and “La Favorite.”
