Operalia Competition Announces 2022 Semifinalists

The World Operalia Competition has announced the semifinalists for the 2022 edition.

The semifinalists in the opera category include Australian mezzo Fleuranne Brockway, US mezzo Maire Therese Carmack, US tenor Anthony Ciaramitaro, Belgian soprano Louise Foor, Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan, Korean bass-baritone Jongwon Han, Korean soprano Yewon Han, Finnish soprano Jenni Hietala, Korean bass In-Ho Jeong, US tenor Duke Kim, Georgian mezzo Natalia Kutateladze, US tenor Anthony León, US tenor James Ley, Korean baritone Youngjun Park, Korean tenor Kangyoon Shine Lee, US mezzo Megan Moore, Spanish soprano Serena Sáenz Molinero,  US mezzo Emily Sierra,  German countertenor Nils Wanderer, and Chinese mezzo Hongni Wu.

In the zarzuela category, semi-finalists include US tenor Anthony Ciaramitaro, Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan, US tenor Duke Kim, Korean tenor Kangyoon Shine Lee, US tenor Anthony León, US mezzo Megan Moore, Spanish soprano Serena Sáenz Molinero, US mezzo Emily Sierra, and Chinese mezzo Hongni Wu.

The final round of Operalia is set for Oct. 30, 2022 at the Latvian National Opera in Riga, Latvia.
