OperaHole to Debut with ‘Screen (Mad Scenes)’

By David Salazar

OperaHole, a new collective in Copenhagen, is set to debut with “screen (mad scenes).”

The production, set to open on Oct. 24 and 25, 2025, will feature the several works, including “8 Songs for a Mad King” by Peter Maxwell Davies. The work will be staged using live-filmed media as well as other real-time technology that encourages and enables online interaction. Also on the slate will be the mad scene from “Lucia di Lammermoor.”

Performers include vocalists Daniel Rosenberg and Litha Ashford as well as numerous instrumentalists.

“OperaHole is about making dangerous music. We crave living, performances that realize absolute fantasy, and perpetuate real world consequence. We’re uninterested in reverence for its own sake — put your hands to your side, and boo if you so please. Ovate only if it’s required of you. screen (mad scenes) is our all hallows’ eve invitation to break the rules of concert-going and lean into chaos and horror. Catch you there,” said Daniel Rosenberg, the Artistic Director of the OperaHole. Rosenberg founded the company alongside Litha Ashforth.

The Oct. 24 performance kicks off at 7 p.m. at The Lab Cph, Studio 7. There will be two performances on Oct. 25 with one starting at 2 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m. local time.
