OperaDelaware Announces New Board Members & Expanded Staff Positions

OperaDelaware announced four new leaders to its board of directors, as well as new and expanded roles for several of its Company Artists.

The new posts were made effective Sept. 1, 2026.

The four new board members include Nancy Dibert, CEO Of Epic Marketing Consultants Corporation, Jim Hawkins, an active and acclaimed playwright based in Smyrna, Del., Selena Molina, a retired Senior Magistrate Judge from the Delaware Court of Chancery, and professional Neutral, and Ciro Poppiti, III, an arts activist known for producing large scale events and a government official (Register of Wills), attorney, and officer in the Delaware Army National Guard.

In a statement, Christina MacMillan, OperaDelaware board president said, “We are thrilled to be adding such a high caliber of leadership and expertise to the OperaDelaware board this year, and grateful to each of our new members for their willingness to serve.”

The company also announced expanded administrative roles for two of its Company Artists, effective August 1, 2026.

In addition to his role as an OperaDelaware Company Artist, tenor Dane Suarez has been appointed Marketing Manager. In his new role, Suarez will manage OperaDelaware’s graphic design and social media, digital and print marketing, and advertising programs.

Additionally, soprano Emily Margevich has been appointed Manager of Education and Community Engagement where she will oversee OperaDelaware’s Pop-Up Opera program, K-12 education programs, and community engagement initiatives. As a Company Artist in the 2026-27 season, Emily will sing the lead role in the May 2027 production of “Orpheus.”
