Opera Streaming is set to present “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” live from the Teatro Municipale, Reggio Emilia.

The showcase, which is set for March 26, 2021, will star César Cortés as Count Almaviva, Pablo Ruiz as Bartolo, Michela Antenucci as Rosina, Guido Loconsolo as Basilio, and Simone Del Savio in the lead role as Figaro.

Rossini’s comic masterpiece will be directed by Fabio Cherstich with conductor Leonardo Sini as music director.

The irresistible ‘madness’ in the music and the joy of watching this infectious mania divorced from reality, allows us to distort all sense of proportions and to create a rollicking rollercoaster ride,” said Cherstich of his production in a press release from Opera Streaming. “A huge flashing Broadway sign above Figaro’s workshop identifies him as the most famous barber of all times.”

The opera will also be broadcast via Opera Streaming until April 11, 2021. The organization is also set to stream “Il Farnace” from Ferrara in May.
