Opera Singer Juan Cristobal Flores Shot in Goodwill Shooting

Arizona Opera Chorus member Juan Cristobal Flores was shot during a robbery in Tucson at a Goodwill donation center.

According to news reports, Flores was working at the  donation center and was one of the two employees shot while working a shift.

The Arizona Opera released a statement noting, “We at Arizona Opera were deeply saddened to learn of a senseless act of violence suffered by Arizona Opera Chorus member, Juan Cristobal Flores. On Friday, Juan was a victim of , was shot twice, and is in critical condition. Our hearts and prayers are with Juan and his family, and we wish him strength as he recovers from this tragedy.”

The company also noted, “If you have any information regarding this crime, please call 911 or 88-CRIME if you wish to remain anonymous.”

The singer’s family has set up a GoFundMe page that has thus raised over $42,000.

Flores is an opera singer who has performed with Arizona Opera and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
