Opera San José’s CEO / General Director, Shawna Lucey has been named a 2025 “Woman of Influence” by Silicon Valley Business Journal.

She will be honored at an awards ceremony on June 26, 2025 at the Santa Clara Marriott.

“I am so honored and thrilled to be recognized as part of this group of incredible women making a difference in Silicon Valley,” said Lucey per an official press release. “At Opera San José, we’re proving that the arts can lead with vision, innovation, and heart—and I’m proud to help shape a future where creativity and community go hand in hand.”

Since Lucey took over the company in January 2022, the organization has seen a revenue increase of 25 percent as well as an expansion of its programming and community partnerships. Lucey is also a major stage director whose work has taken the stage of such companies as San Francisco Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, and LA Opera, among others.
