Opera San José to Stream ‘Mozart and Salieri’

Opera San José will open its 2021-22 season virtually with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s rarely-seen opera ‘Mozart and Salieri.’

The production will star Sidney Outlaw as Salieri and Simon Barrad as Mozart and will feature members of the Opera San José Chorus and Opera San José Orchestra. Donato Cabrera conducts the opera with Fenlon Lamb directing the virtual production.

This performance was captured in Opera San José’s Heiman Digital Media Studio, with strict observance of health and safety protocols that met or exceeded local and state COVID-19 guidelines.

Audiences can start streaming the opera on Sept. 30 at 6:00pm (PST) with a virtual VIP Cast Party that evening. It will be available to stream on-demand through Oct. 31, 2021.The company will offer the option of Spanish and Vietnamese subtitles (in addition to English).
