Opera San José to Present ‘The Magic Flute’

Opera San José is set to presents Mozart and Schikaneder’s ever-popular “The Magic Flute.”

Sung in German with English subtitles, the opera will be conducted by Donato Cabrera, music director of the California Symphony and Las Vegas Philharmonic, and directed by Brad Dalton, who has staged major opera productions throughout the United States.

The cast will include Alexander McKissick, Natalie Image, Brittany Renee Robinson, Eugene Brancoveanu, and Elena Galván.

There will be an introduction to the opera with Larry Hancock, who will give a 45-minute talk about the work to ticket holders before every performance.

There will also be “The Magic Flute Preview,” moderated by Larry Hancock. The sneak peek will include a lecture and performances by Opera San José artists.

“The Magic Flute” opens on April 18 and runs through May 2, 2020.
