Opera San José to Present ‘The Barber of Seville’

Opera San José is set to present Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” in November.

The opera, which is subtitled “The Useless Precaution,” will be showcased in a production with scenery and costumes designed by Adrian Linford and directed by Stephen Lawless.

The cast will include bass-baritone Dale Travis as Dr. Bartolo, baritone Ricardo José Rivera as Figaro, mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz as Rosina, tenor Joshua Sanders as Count Almaviva, mezzo-soprano Courtney Miller as Berta, bass-baritone Vartan Gabrielian as Basilio, bass-baritone Joshua Hughes as Fiorello, and baritone Michael Kuo as the Officer.

OSJ Director of Music Joseph Marcheso conducts.

“The Barber of Seville” is set to run between Nov. 11 and 26, 2023 at the California Theatre.
