Opera San José to Present Outdoor Concert at San José Municipal Rose Garden

Opera San José will present “Opera in the Rose Garden” at the Municipal Rose Garden in San José, California on Saturday, June 20.

The showcase will feature the OSJ Orchestra conducted by Music Director Joseph Marcheso in music from “Die Fledermaus,” “Pagliacci,” “Rigoletto,” “Carmen,” “The Pearl Fishers.” Special guests include tenor Pasquale Esposito and soprano Victoria McDowell, joined by sopranos Madison Hatten and Nicole Koh; tenors Alex Boyer, Edward Graves, and Ben Gulley; baritones Eugene Brancoveanu and Luis Alejandro Orozco; and bass-baritone Philip Skinner.

The concert is presented in conjunction with San José’s hosting of 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, with underwriting provided by Applied Materials and the San José Sports Authority.

“As the FIFA World Cup brings the world to our doorstep, we’re showing that San José is a global destination for both world-class sport and world-class art,” said CEO and General Director Shawna Lucey, per an official press release.

Vendors will be on site throughout the evening and complimentary Kona Ice will be available for all attendees. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic items.
