
Opera San José to Open Season with ‘Don Giovanni’

The new production of Mozart’s masterwork will examine immorality, accountability, and the inescapable final reckoning that awaits the unrepentant.
The cast will include Wm. Clay Thompson in the title role, Maria Brea as Donna Elvira, Jonghyun Park as Don Ottavio, Kenneth Kellogg as the Commendatore.
Internationally renowned tenor Alek Shrader helms the production while OSJ Music Director and Principal Conductor Joseph Marcheso leads the orchestra.
“Don Giovanni” will be performed between Sept. 13 and 27, 2026 at the California Theatre.
