Opera San José to Open 2024-25 Season with ‘The Magic Flute’

Opera San José is set to launch its 41st season with a family-friendly production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.”

The opera will be conducted by prodigy composer/conductor Alma Deutscher, whose updated “Cinderella” was presented at OSJ. 

Deutscher will reunite with director Brad Dalton for the opera which will star tenor WooYoung Yoon as Tamino and baritone Ricardo José Rivera as Papageno. Pamina will be sung by soprano Melissa Sondhi while the Queen of the Night will be portrayed by soprano Emily Misch.

“The Magic Flute” is set to be presented between Sept. 14-29, 2024 at the California Theatre, 345 S 1st St, San José.
