Opera San José will present Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel” in time for the holiday season.

The classic work will star Stephanie Sanchez and Elena Galváncvv in the title roles alongside Kerriann Otaño, Eugene Brancoveanu, Amy Goymerac, and Talin Nalbandian.

The production which includes Candyland sets, will be conducted Opera San José Music Director Joseph Marcheso and directed by Layna Chianakas.

During the run the company will present a matinee where audiences will get a chance to mingle with the artists and will be given treats like gingerbread cookies as well as hot chocolate, coffee, light appetizers, and sparkling wine for adults. There will also be a pre-performance lecture before every performance.

“Hansel and Gretel” is set to open on Nov. 16 and runs through Dec. 1, 2019 at the California Theatre.
