Opera San José has announced an extension of its virtual Christmas presentation of Jake Heggie’s chamber opera “Three Decembers” until Jan. 31, 2021.

World-renowned mezzo-soprano Susan Graham will lead a cast that is also headlined by soprano Maya Kherani and the baritone Efraín Solis. Pianist and conductor Veronica Agranov-Dafoe and pianist Sunny Yoon join the cast with a piano arrangement created and conducted by Christopher James Ray.

This digital production has received praise from critics and has been classified as “world-class” and declared “an optimistic and surprisingly ingenious creation.”

The opera has been captured in the Heiman Digital Media Studio of Ópera San José, directed by Tara Branham. The company also released a Making Of documentary alongside the release of the video to allow audiences an opportunity to experience the process of creating “Three Decembers” for a digital audience.

The opera can be viewed on the company’s official website.
