Opera Revue & Junction City Wrestlers to Present ‘OperaMania’

By David Salazar

Opera Revue will join forces with Junction City Wrestlers for “OperaMania” on Nov. 26, 2025.

The Toronto-based one-night-only performance will feature soprano Danie Friesen, baritone Alexander Hajek, and pianists Claire Elise Harris and Andrew McRae, who is also the owner of Junction City Wrestler. Other featured artists on the program include Queen Hezamuryango, Gregory Finney, and Ryan Downey.

The event, promoted as “a musical melee of operatic proportions,” will feature dramatic duets juxtaposed with dropkicks and bodyslams.

“People ask us, ‘Why opera and pro wrestling?’” said Friesen, per an official press release. “We had to think of a way to top our previous opera-and-circus and opera-and-burlesque shows, and this was the perfect ‘Hold my beer’ moment. But then we realized it works — both art forms share the same drama, heroes and villains, and over-the-top storylines. Once again, we’re connecting two communities, opera lovers and sports fans, and introducing each to something new.”
