Opera Praktikos will present a special screening of “Imperfect” on Dec. 10, 2022.

The documentary follows the story of a company of professional actors with disabilities who aim to mount a production of “Chicago” in Denver.

Following the screening, audiences will be invited to a virtual panel discussion with Opera Mariposa’s General Manager Stephanie Ko, Bass David Salsbury Fry, and Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Director of Media Relations Michael Solomon. Film co-director Regan Linton will moderate the panel discussion.

“We’re an interabled company, making opera accessible,” said Oprak’s Artistic Director, Gregory Moomjy, in an official press statement. “We present this screening of imperfect and its subsequent discussion to address, head-on, the questions of disability creativity in opera.”

Opera Praktikos recently presented an inaugural production of “Orlando” this past summer.
