Opera Philadelphia has announced that every seat at every show will be $11 or “Pick Your Price.”

The new price is officially available now for all productions throughout the 2024-25 season.

In explaining his reason for the strategy, newly minted General Director and President of Opera Philadelphia Anthony Roth Costanzo noted that “price can be a big barrier to entry at the opera, and ticket sales are a metric that too often determines how we program, how we engage, and how we market. If we are worried about making sure we sell expensive tickets, it limits the possibility of who we reach and what we make.”

The new Opera Philadelphia season kicks off on Sept. 25 with the American premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s “The Listeners.”
