Opera Philadelphia to Present Jamie Barton in ‘BON APPÉTIT!’

Opera Philadelphia is set to stream a production of “BON APPÉTIT!” on Jan. 8, 2021.

The online fundraising event, which is presented in partnership with the Houston Grand Opera, stars mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton as Julia Child alongside pianist Jonathan Easter. The video and audio were produced by Keep the Music Going Productions with Ryan McKinny and Tonya McKinny directing.

Additionally, supports of the event located throughout Philadelphia region will be provided with a three-course French dinner from acclaimed chef Pierre Calmels, owner of the Bibou Boutique.

This is the latest major showcase to be announced on Opera Philadelphia’s digital platform which includes performances of David T. Little’s “Soldier Songs,” Hans Werner Henze’s “El Cimarrón,” and Tyshawn Sorey’s “Cycles of My Being,” among others. The company also recently presented a 2015 broadcast of “La Traviata” starring Lisette Oropesa and will stream a five-episode series “LOVE in the Park” highlighting members of the Opera Philadelphia Chorus.
