Opera Philadelphia to Deliver Free Family Concert at Cooper River Park This July

Opera Philadelphia is set to present a family night featuring a concert performance of opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” on July 13, 2023 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken.

Elizabeth Braden will conduct an ensemble that stars by 12-year-old Ethan Monberg, a member and soloist of the Philadelphia Children’s Chorus and the Philadelphia Vocal Conservatory. Other notable performers include soprano Maren Montalbano, tenor Cory O’Neill Walker, bass John David Miles, and baritone Mark Hosseini.

Additionally, the show will feature 12 singers from the Opera Chorus of Philadelphia and 18 musicians from the Opera Philadelphia Orchestra, totaling 40 musicians altogether.

The concert will commence with a selection of beloved and popular songs from various world operas. It will culminate with a rendition of Gian Carlo Menotti’s Christmas classic, “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

The event is part of the 2023 Twilight Concert Series which aims to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Cooper River Park.
