Opera Philadelphia Chorus to Present ‘Love in the Park’ Concert Series

The Opera Philadelphia Chorus is set to present “Love in the Park,” a five-episode series of performances starting on Dec. 11, 2020.

The showcase, which was filmed on Sept. 30, 2020 at a socially-distanced concert in Dilworth Park.  will focus on 16 members of the ensemble under the musical direction of Chorus Master Elizabeth Braden and pianist Grant Loehnig as they performed  music from “The Tales of Hoffmann,” “Carmen,” “La Traviata,” “Rigoletto,” “Don Giovanni,” “The Barber of Seville,” “Porgy and Bess,” “Der Rosenkavalier,” “A Little Night Music,” “Camelot,” “West Side Story,” “My Fair Lady,” “Godspell,” “Waitress,” “and “The Music Man.”

The artists include altos Marissa Chalker, Joanna Gates, and Megan McFadden; sopranos Lauren Cook, Natalie Dewey, Aimee Pilgermayer, Evelyn Santiago, and Julie Snyder; tenors Corey Don Bonar, A. Edward Maddison, Toffer Mihalka, and Daniel Taylor; and basses Mark Malachesky, John David Miles, Frank Mitchell, and Scott Purcell.

All five episodes will premiere on Dec. 11, 2020.
