Opera Parallèle Elects New Board President

Opera Parallèle has announced that Nancy E. Petrisko will be the new board president starting on August 1, 2019.

She was elected by the company’s Board of Directors.

Petrisko has been in the world of arts management for over 35 years. She is the current director of development at the Mondavi Center for Performing Arts, UC Davis, she has also worked with such organizations as the San Francisco Performances, San Francisco Symphony, Washington Performing Arts Society, the Kennedy Center and BlackRock Center for the Arts, the San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Opera Lafayette, and Washington Concert Opera.

“It is a very exciting time for the creation and presentation of contemporary opera,” stated Petrisko in a press release. “We are in a renaissance of creativity and a wonderful age of artistic talents. Opera Parallèle provides proof of this with each of its productions—joining artistic vision, fresh voices and gutsy storytelling for amazing results.
