Opera på Skäret to Present ‘Norma’

Swedish company Opera på Skäret is set to present “Norma” this summer.

The opera, which opens on July 27 and runs through August 25, 2024, will star Alina Tkachuk and Sonja Saric sharing the title role. Joining them are tenors Vitaliy Kovalchuk and Nutthaporn Thammathi as Pollione. As Adalgisa, audiences will see Anna Werle and Andrea Niño. Rounding out the cast are Petri Lindroos and Tyler Putnam as Oroveso, and Ido Beit Halachmi as Flavio. Finally, Mathilda Bryngelsson sings Clotilde.

The opera will be directed by Alexander Nicalsson with Michael Balke conducting.

The opera will be featured across 12 performances with the two casts.

In summer 2023, the company presented Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” Other past operas include “Un Ballo in Maschera” in 2022, “The Magic Flute” (2019), “Don Carlo” (2018), and “L’Elisir d’Amore” (2018), among others.
