Opera Orlando Presents ‘Baseball: a Musical Love Letter’

Opera Orlando closes its 2022-23 season with “Baseball: a Musical Love Letter.”

The Florida premiere of Kathleen Belcher and Dan Rigazzi’s cabaret-style production relates the history of baseball through opera, musical theater, and jazz standards. Robert Hartfield, Laura Hodos, and Gabriel Preisser headline the one-act opera. Chevalier Lovett conducts.

Opera Orlando and the Orange County Regional History Center partnered to offer the pre-performance event “Opera at Bat: an evening of baseball, history, and music.” On May 11 at 6:30 p.m. attendees with get a sneak peek of the upcoming performance from cast members.

The main production will be presented at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre in Loch Haven Park on May 19 and 21.
