Opera Orlando is set to present “Viva l’Opera!” on May 13, 2022.

The annual gala, which will take place at The Alfond Inn at Rollins, will honor Helen Hall Leon, who started the Opera Orlando Endowment and also made a significant contribution to Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Leon donated $5 million to Arnold Palmer Hospital’s neuroscience center in order to support and grow services and initiatives aimed at managing and battling neurological disorders, including spina bifida and epilepsy, using a fetal, in utero surgery program.

The gala will feature performances by Kathryn Bowden, Kirk Dougherty, Kimberly Milton, and Gabriel Presser.

“I wish to thank our sponsors and all attending the gala as your presence conveys a positive signal to the community of your trust in Opera Orlando and dedication to the arts in Central Florida,” said Kara Robertson, gala committee chair, in an official press statement. “We are thrilled to honor Helen Leon, whose generosity to Opera Orlando is unparalleled and an inspiration for us all. This will be a party and celebration not to be missed and a night to remember!”
