Opera Orlando has announced four artists that will be joining its Studio Artist program.

The artists include soprano Sara Lucille Law, mezzo-soprano Raphaella Medina, tenor Robert Hartfield, and baritone Geoffrey Peterson. They will appear on both MainStage and On the Town productions while also engaging with the Central Florida community with in-school programs, retirement center concerts, and other outreach showcases. They will also receive masterclasses and artistic training with special guest artists.

“Opera Orlando’s Studio Artist program provides talented young singers the opportunity to hone their craft and learn skills that will serve them throughout their professional careers. The singers accepted into this residency are truly an extension of the Opera Orlando family,” said program director and education director Sarah Purser in an official press statement.  They will not only perform roles on stage, but spread the joy of opera throughout our Central Florida community.”

Law has appeared with such companies as the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, MSC Cruises, Victor Herbert Renaissance Project, and Peach State Opera, among other others. Meanwhile, Medina has appeared with Opera Santa Barbara, Opera Columbus, and the New Albany Symphony Orchestra.

Hartfield’s resume includes appearances with Opera in the Ozarks, Cimarron Opera, and the Collegium Musicum. Finally, Peterson has performed with the Houston Ebony Opera Guild, the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers, and the Vitamin L Chorus, among others.
