Opera on Tap to Present ‘Songs of the Sea’ & ‘US’

Opera  on Tap has announced two major New York City events set to take place this August.

First up will be “Songs of the Sea” in Riverside Park on Pier 1 on August 20 and August 27 from 5-7 p.m. ET.

This family -friendly show, which will feature Yaoqing Wang, Vincenzo Fiorito, and Jaydon Beleford, includes sing-a-longs, audience participation and magic wishing shells. The mermaids encourage everyone to dress in their “merbest” for pictures after the concert!  Inflatable sea anemone puppets  from cari ann shim sham’s Shimmer project will join the Riverside Park events.  The dancers are Demetris Charlambous and  Karsen Tengan.

The company will also present “US” on August 25 at 8p.m. ET at the performance space 2B&2C, at The Ken Cro-Ken Memorial Foundation, 9 Avenue B New York, NY.

Curated and performed by students from the Manhattan School of Music, the singers will celebrate their diverse cultural backgrounds through music. Performers include Yaoqing Wang, Vincenzo Fiorito,Jaydon Beleford, Bomin Kim, and Iver Cardas.
