Opera Omaha Announces Opera Outdoors Event To Preview 2019-20 Season

Opera Omaha will present Opera Outdoors on August 23, 2019, at Midtown Crossing’s Turner Park.

The family event will be free to the general public, kicking off at 7 p.m. local time. The concert will feature a sample of many of the greatest hits of the opera repertory as well as previews of what the company is showcasing throughout the 2019-20 season. Among the composers that will be featured as Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, and Bellini.

The event, which will be hosted in both Spanish and English for the second straight year, will feature such artists as Gwenna Taylor-Fairchild, Jared Hiscock, Kate Pomrenke, Kaitlin Zardetto, Peter Drackley, Alexandra LoBianco, Hidenori Inoue, and the Opera Omaha Chorus, all under the musical direction of Sean Kelly. John Del Los Santos will direct the performance.

Opera Omaha’s 2019-20 season will feature “Madama Butterfly,” “John the Baptist,” “The Abduction of the Seraglio,” and “The Capulets and the Montagues.”
