Opéra National de Paris to Stream ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’ Starring Ermonela Jaho, Ramón Vargas

The Opéra National de Paris will be streaming Offenbach’s “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” starting on April 20.

This production stars Ramón Vargas in the title role with the likes of Ermonela Jaho, Stéphanie D’Oustrac, and Nadine Koutcher under the music direction of Phillipe Jordan.

The opera is performed in the iconic production by Robert Carsen. The performance is published in collaboration with CultureBox.

Audiences in France can check out the performance via the company’s official website until April 26.

This is but the latest of several works that the company is streaming on its official websites. Music lovers can check out the complete Tchaikovsky Symphonies until May 30, the Nureyev ballet “Cinderella” until May 21, “Giselle” until August 5, “Les INdes Galantes” until Oct. 9, and Jean-Stéphane Bron’s “Toward Silence.”

Next week, the company will offer up Bizet’s “Carmen” as its opera streaming option.
