Opéra National de Paris & Arte to Stream Jonas Kaufmann, Sondra Radvanovsky in ‘Aida’

The Opéra National de Paris has announced that it will stream its new production of Verdi’s “Aida” on Arte on Feb. 18 and 21.

The production, which will be directed by Lotte de Beer will feature tenor Jonas Kaufmann as Radamès, soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in the title role, baritone Ludovic Tézier as Amonasro, mezzo-soprano Ksenia Dudnikova as Amneris, Dmitri Belosselskiy as Ramfis, and bass Soloman Howard as the King. The opera will also feature Alessandro Liberatore and Roberta Mantegna.

Michele Mariotti will conduct the performance.

The production will open on Feb. 12 through 27 without audience members. The Feb. 18 stream will kick off at 7:30 p.m. local time with the Feb. 21 showcase will commence at 2:05 p.m. local time. Audiences can all check out the opera in select cinemas. There will also be a transmission of the Feb. 27, 2021 performance on France Musique.
