Opéra National de Bordeaux has announced that its new General Director Emmanuel Hondré will take over his position in January 2022.

Per an official press release, current General Director of the Opéra National de Bordeaux Marc Minkowski proposed to the Board of Directors that his designated successor Emmanuel Hondré take over his duties on Jan. 17, 2022, instead of Sep. 1, 2022.

At the same time, Hondré will be leaving his posts at the Philharmonie de Paris. The decision came about in agreement with the city of Bordeaux, the State and the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and is a reflection of the desire to facilitate the implementation of the 2022-2023 season.

The program established by Minkowski between January and July 2022 will be maintained.
