Opera Naples To Hold Auditions for the Chorus of Bizet’s ‘Carmen’

Opera Naples will be holding auditions for their company’s production of Bizet’s “Carmen”  on Feb. 4, 2019. 

The auditions for both the youth and adult chorus of “Carmen” will be held by appointment at the Wang Opera Center in Naples.

“No experience is necessary to audition. For the audition, please prepare one vocal solo from a variety of repertoires,” stated the press release regarding the audition notice. “The selection does not need to be operatic. Paid positions are available for qualified adult singers.

“Carmen” will feature Gaëlle Arquez in the title role, Heather Phillips as Micaëla, Rafael Davila as Don José, and Anatoli Sivko as Escamillo. Ramón Tebar conducts with Jeffrey Buchman directing. The iconic French opera will be performed at Artis-Naples on April 24 and 25, 2019.

In addition to its performances of the Bizet masterpiece, the company will be presenting  “The Deserted Island” and Joseph Calleja in recital.
