Opera Naples has announced a cast change for its production of “Madama Butterfly.”

The company has announced that Elizabeth Caballero will sing the title role replacing Jennifer Rowley who was originally scheduled.

Caballero is a soprano who has performed the role at the Inland Northwest Opera, at the Staatsoper Stuttgart, Pensacola Opera, Staatsoper Berlin, and Lyric Opera of Kansas Opera. This season she performed “Florencia en el Amazonas” at the Nashville Opera and will sing “La Boheme” Fort Worth Opera.

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Kim Stanish, Martín Nusspaumer, and Raymond Diaz. Ramón Tebar conducts the work which will be performed on March 8 and 10, 2024.
