Opera Memphis has canceled its 70th Anniversary Concert at the Overton Park Shell in Memphis, Tennessee, due to weather.

The concert, which was set for Oct. 10, 2026, was planned as a community celebration of the company’s 70th anniversary. No reschedule date was provided.

The Overton Park Shell made the decision to cancel the evening event following guidance from the National Weather Service.

In lieu of the cancelation, Opera Memphis directed audiences seeking live music on Oct. 10 to the Memphis Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Vaughan Williams’ “Dona Nobis Pacem” at the Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center.

“70 years of Opera Memphis is much bigger than one evening, and we still have so much to celebrate throughout our Anniversary season,” the company said, per an official press release.
