Opera Laguna Unveils Fall 2024 Events
By David SalazarOpera Laguna has unveiled its upcoming projects for the fall of 2024.
First up on the slate is “Ghosts of Laguna Part I: Ye Arch Beach Tavern.” The showcase features an opera in workshop by Pamela Madeson as well as several new works. Soloists include co-founders Oriana Geis-Falla and Arnold Livingston Geis. Catherine Miller accompanies the duo at the piano. The event will take place on Oct. 28, 2024, starting at 7 p.m. at the Rivian South Coast Theater. There will be a cocktail preceding the performance and a Q&A afterward.
On Dec. 20, the company will present a “Bel Canto Christmas,” which features a special rendition of Händel’s iconic “Messiah,” conducted by Kyle Naig and featuring dancers from the South Chicago Dance Theater. This represents the premiere performance by the Opera Laguna Chora and Orchestra.
