Opera in the Ozarks Unveils 2023 Season

Arkansas’ Opera in the Ozarks has announced its 2023 season, which runs between June 23 – July 21, 2023.

The season opens with “L’Elisir d’Amore.” The opera, which will be conducted by Anthony Barrese, will be directed by Robert Swedberg. The cast stars Jesús Bravo and Ilhee Lee as Nemorino with Helena Losado and Laura Romero alternating as Adina. Other cast members include Joseph Canter, Andrew Hallam, Tyler Middleton, Matthew McKinnon, and Emilia Perrotta.

Performance Dates: June 23 – July 21, 2023

Next up is “The Tender Land.” Thomas Cockrell conducts a production by Linda Ade Brand starring Klark Johnson, Emily Pope, Margaret Branyon-Goodman, Rebecca Gardner, Truman Grant, Ilhee Lee, Megan Cumming, Jenna Weitman, Matthew McKinnon, and Tyler Middleton, among others.

Performance Dates: June 24 – July 20, 2023

Closing out the season will be “Orpheus in the Underworld.” Thomas Cockrell and Ian Axness share conducting duties with Lisa Powers Tricomi directing. The operetta stars William Volmar, Tarryn Ballard, Emily Cotton, Yeonjae Cho, Anne Elis Teeling, Jésus Bravo, Truman Grant, Reece Ruhl, and Nicholas Schneider, among others.

Performance Dates: June 27 – July 19, 2023
