The Oper im Steinbruch has announced a cast change for its production of Verdi’s “Aida.”

The company announced that Leah Gordon will take over the performance on July 26 replacing Leah Crocetto who is ill.

In a statement, Crocetto said, “Dear Friends, as some of you may already know, I’m currently battling a case of bronchitis and, unfortunately, have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s performance. I am focused on recovering and am confident I’ll be back on stage very soon. In the meantime, I send my best wishes to Leah Gordon who will be stepping in as Aida, and to the entire Oper I’m Steinbruch team for a fabulous performance this evening. Thank you all for your continued love and support!”

Gordon, who has performed at Staatstheater Nürnberg and Bayerische Staatsoper, is set to join a cast that includes Hovhannes Ayvazyan, Kseniia Nikolaieva, and Zoltán Nagy.

Crocetto returns to the production on August 4, 2024.
